Our cottage in Salthouse - A beautiful place for a holiday

The village of Salthouse is on the North Norfolk coast, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, between Sheringham and Blakeney. It overlooks the salt marshes next to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve at Cley. Clustered around the village green are pretty cottages, a pub with a large front garden that looks directly over the salt marsh, The Old Post Office (newspapers & groceries), Cookies Crab Shop offering platters of seafood, salads, sandwiches and ice cream.

The magnificent church of St Nicholas (next door up the lane) has regular art exhibitions and concerts.

The beach is mainly pebble and shingle. Parking is easy and it is perfect for a picnic.

Recently completely refurbished, Church Cottage (at the top of Grout's Lane) is by the church of St Nicholas. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and can sleep 7 comfortably (and more at a pinch). It has two bathrooms.

Ideal for nature lovers and birdwatchers (the famous reserve at Cley is only a mile away). The image above, taken from the front door, shows how close we are to the sea.
